AI Education and Leadership

Center members are recognized leaders in digital mental health and AI at the national and global levels. They include founding members of the Society for Digital Mental Health, have led major technology initiatives within professional organizations such as the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, and are frequently invited to deliver keynote addresses at leading conferences focused on technology, AI, and health care.

Our faculty and investigators also serve in scientific advisory roles for AI companies and professional and patient advocacy organizations, helping to shape the future of digital mental health innovation while maintaining strong commitments to scientific rigor and ethical standards.

Center members regularly present their work at local, national, and international forums, including grand rounds within and beyond the Harvard system, academic institutions worldwide, and major scientific and clinical conferences, bringing scientific rigor and ethical grounding to the broader field.

Events and Community

The Center for Digital Mental Health fosters a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary community and organizes a wide range of events to promote innovation, dialogue, and translation. Our virtual programming is open to CDMH members, who are MGB mental health scientists and providers.

These include:

Distinguished Guest Speakers

Quarterly, we host national and international speakers from academia and industry, with topics spanning advances in digital phenotyping, opportunities and challenges of generative AI in mental health, social media and youth mental health, and emerging technologies in care delivery.

Panels Bridging Research, Innovation, and Practice

The Center convenes panel discussions that bring together experts from Mass General Brigham Innovation, Mass General Brigham AI, industry partners, and venture groups. These conversations help ensure that our clinical and research innovations are translated into real-world practice and scalable solutions.

Research Blitz and Collaborative Forums

We host research blitz sessions and internal forums where Center members share ongoing work, spark new ideas, and accelerate collaboration across disciplines, disorders, and methodological approaches.

Translating Research into Practice

Center members work closely with the Mass General Brigham Innovation team, Mass General Brigham AI, and the MGH Psychiatry Academy to bridge the gap between academic research and product development. These partnerships help ensure that our discoveries and innovations move beyond the lab to meaningfully improve clinical care, health system capacity, and patient outcomes.

We are committed to recruiting and training outstanding early-career investigators who share our vision of meaningfully improving the mental health care system through innovation in digital, data-driven, and AI-enabled approaches to mental health care.  The Center offers multiple pathways for trainees to engage in cutting-edge research, clinical innovation, and professional development:
